About the Project
The FAIR Forward – Artificial Intelligence for All project, implemented by GIZ on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), aims to promote a more open, inclusive, and sustainable approach to AI internationally. In India, the project focuses on:
- Creating open AI training datasets and applications aligned with SDGs
- Promoting open AI for climate protection
- Strengthening responsible AI use through political dialogue
A key initiative is the development of an AI-driven Agricultural Information Exchange Platform (AIEP) to advise smallholder farmers in Bihar, India.
About The Role
Position: Advisor Artificial Intelligence (Internal: ICT and Digitalisation Advisor)
Location: New Delhi, India
Duration: Until June 30, 2025 (with possibility for extension)
Application Deadline: October 13, 2024
Main Responsibilities
- Coordinate implementation of AI activities in smallholder agriculture
- Manage a network of global and local digital agriculture innovators
- Organize workshops and convenings to develop the AI-driven platform
- Coordinate the implementation of Minimum Viable Products for digital advisory services
- Engage with the digital ecosystem on agriculture-related Digital Public Infrastructure initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Geoinformatics, Agriculture Science, or related fields
- At least 5 years of professional experience in a comparable position
- Experience in artificial intelligence, data science, or related fields
- Knowledge of digital transformation projects in agriculture and sustainability
- Strong project management and communication skills
- Fluency in English (German is a plus)
