About The Role
Role: Teaching Fellow (AI Safety Courses)
Location: Remote
Compensation: Based on the number of groups facilitated (see details below)
As a Teaching Fellow, you will lead daily discussions with small groups (5-8 participants) for our 5-day AI safety courses. We aim to foster discussions and critical thinking around AI safety, and we are looking for experienced Teaching Fellows to facilitate these discussions. We provide discussion documents and a private Slack channel for facilitators to connect, seek guidance, and share feedback.
- Each discussion lasts 1-2 hours and takes place Monday to Friday.
- The schedule is highly flexible and can be adjusted based on your availability.
- If the initial weeks go well, this could turn into a longer-term role as we run our courses throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate engaging and productive discussions on AI safety topics.
- Use provided discussion documents to guide conversations.
- Provide explanations, ask thought-provoking questions, and ensure active participation.
- Engage with other facilitators and the course lead via Slack for support and feedback.
Compensation
This is a paid position with a per-group payment structure. For each week:
Number of Groups | Total Pay |

2 | £800 |
3 | £1,200 |
4 | £1,600 |
5 | £2,000 |
6 | £2,400 |
Based on past facilitator data, this corresponds to an estimated £27-40/hour, depending on familiarity with the material and the number of groups taken.
