Role
The Assistant Manager Procurement manages the end-to-end sourcing and purchasing functions for construction, infrastructure, and CSR projects. This role involves planning procurement cycles, evaluating vendors, and managing contracts to ensure all project materials and services are acquired cost-effectively and within donor compliance guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Create and update procurement plans and trackers aligned with specific project schedules and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with project teams to understand bills of quantities (BOQs), technical drawings, and timelines for civil and MEP works.
- Identify and onboard vendors for construction materials and services through RFQs, RFPs, and comparative bid analysis.
- Conduct vendor site visits, product evaluations, and due diligence checks to maintain a reliable database of suppliers.
- Lead commercial negotiations regarding pricing, payment terms, warranties, and delivery schedules.
- Manage the issuance and tracking of purchase orders, work orders, and rate contracts.
- Maintain complete procurement records and documentation to ensure audit readiness for internal and donor-funded requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for procurement queries across project, finance, and legal teams.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Commerce, Supply Chain, or Business Management.
- 8 to 12 years of experience in procurement within the construction, EPC, or development sectors.
- Understanding of BOQs, civil materials, and service agreements.
- Proficiency in MS Excel for creating trackers, dashboards, and bid comparisons.
- Experience managing large-scale procurement of goods and materials with structured purchase order terms.
- Ability to work within a fast-paced environment and manage multiple project sites simultaneously.
- Fluency in Kannada, English, and Hindi is mandatory.
- Willingness to travel for field visits and site-level coordination.
