EAII Advisors works to bring life-changing health programs to communities across India. As the technical partner to Evidence Action, we support state governments in providing safe drinking water, deworming treatments, and essential nutrition like iron and folic acid.

Role

The Associate Director for Safe Water Operations is a senior leadership position focused on taking water treatment programs to a national scale. You will lead the teams responsible for installing water devices, managing contractors, and working with the government to ensure millions of people have access to safe water. This role is about managing complexity, solving operational hurdles, and driving systems-level change.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the national scale-up of water treatment devices across multiple states, ensuring daily operations run smoothly.
  • Build and train national, state, and field teams to handle rapid growth in program activities.
  • Develop clear systems, tools, and guidelines for program monitoring that can eventually be managed by the government.
  • Oversee the "Learning Agenda," which involves testing new water technologies and community engagement methods.
  • Manage "Market Shaping" efforts to encourage the adoption of water chlorination technologies at a national level.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to vet suppliers and contractors, including site visits across India.
  • Coordinate with senior government officials and private sector partners to align on technical standards and tenders.
  • Identify potential project bottlenecks early and create practical plans to overcome them.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Management or a related field (Engineering or Science background is a plus).
  • 12–15 years of experience in senior operations, specifically scaling programs across multiple states or regions.
  • Proven ability to advise senior business or government leaders and navigate complex stakeholder environments.
  • Experience in product testing, risk assessment, and managing supply chains or logistics.
  • Strong English communication skills, with the ability to turn complex data into clear reports.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams globally and locally.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, uncertain environments and meet tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel within India up to 40% of the time.
