Swaniti Initiative
Swaniti Initiative focuses on strengthening public service delivery by collaborating with state and local governments across South Asia, with a primary focus on India. Their initiatives include improving the implementation of government schemes, supporting Hon’ble Members of Parliament with research, and developing data-technology tools for decision-making. Through flagship programs like Supporting Parliamentarians in Analysis and Research in Constituencies (SPARC) and Leadership and Engagement Associate in District (LEAD), Swaniti has played a key role in constituency and district development across India. Currently, they work with over 200 MPs and state governments to ensure effective scheme delivery in critical areas such as climate and sustainability, social protection, and livelihoods.
About Global Climate and Development Institute (GCDI)
The GCDI is a Swaniti Initiative dedicated to addressing global climate challenges and development opportunities. It aims to provide high-quality research and collaborate with policymakers, elected representatives, and communities worldwide to drive climate action.
About the Role
Responsibilities
- Perform descriptive and statistical analysis of both primary and secondary data gathered by the research team.
- Support data cleaning efforts using tools like STATA and MS Excel.
- Create data visualizations for reports, blog posts, and websites using software such as Tableau, PowerBI, or Datawrapper.
- Assist in designing samples and supporting the research team with field study operations.
- Work on secondary data to analyze topics related to climate change and energy transition.
- Provide statistical support for presentations and report writing.
- Work independently and within a team to meet evolving project needs and handle tight deadlines when required.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, or a relevant field (Master’s preferred).
- 3-7 years of experience in a related role.
- Diploma in Data Analytics is preferred.
- Willingness to travel as required for project work.
Skills and Attributes
- Proficiency with ArcGIS or QGIS software and experience in remote sensing is desired.
- Knowledge of Python, R, or other coding software is preferred.
- Strong background in statistics is a plus.
- Experience handling household and industry survey data.
- Expertise in STATA, MS Excel, PowerBI, and scraping tools.
- Prior experience with data cleaning and survey data management.
- Strong attention to detail and numerical acumen.
- Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with environmental, sustainability, energy, and climate change topics is a plus.
