About the Role
Location: Bengaluru, India
Type: Regular position or an 11-month contractual engagement (renewable on mutual consent)
As a Media Lab Associate, you will be a part of all Media Lab activities, including shooting, editing, production, teaching, and organizing the annual Urban Lens Film Festival. This is an opportunity to work on impactful urban issues through media and engage in research, pedagogy, and knowledge production.
Key Responsibilities
- Shooting and documenting events using DSLR/video cameras.
- Editing content with tools like Adobe Premiere or DaVinci Resolve.
- Producing films and media projects as required.
- Assisting with IIHS’s flagship Urban Lens Film Festival.
- Supporting IIHS Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).
- Teaching in the Urban Fellows Programme (UFP).
- Contributing to research, writing, and other IIHS activities.
- Providing academic and operational support to IIHS activities.
- Traveling for work-related tasks as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate should have:
- A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Mass Communication or a related field with 2–3 years of work experience.
- Proficiency in video shooting (DSLR/video cameras) and editing (Adobe Premiere/DaVinci Resolve).
- Moderate skills in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office applications.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proactive and self-driven approach with the ability to work effectively in teams.
