Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE) is dedicated to interdisciplinary research and action on environmental conservation and sustainable development. The Centre for Learning and Exchange fosters collaboration among researchers, practitioners, and local communities to promote inclusive knowledge-sharing and engagement.
Role Overview:
The Senior Research Associate will lead research initiatives under the Centre for Learning and Exchange, focusing on land-use changes and facilitating knowledge exchange between ATREE and INR. The role requires strong analytical skills, interdisciplinary research experience, and a passion for conservation, sustainability, and policy-driven impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead research efforts aligned with the Centre’s objectives, with a focus on land-use changes.
- Analyze data, synthesize insights, and contribute to high-quality research outputs, including reports, policy briefs, and peer-reviewed publications.
- Engage with government agencies, local communities, and academic institutions to translate research into actionable recommendations.
- Represent the Centre in conferences, workshops, and networking events to disseminate research findings.
Eligibility Criteria:
Required Qualifications:
- A PhD or Master’s degree in environmental science, ecology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of research experience in conservation, natural resource management, sustainable development, or related domains.
- Proficiency in Hindi, Telugu, or Marathi.
- Strong quantitative research skills, with experience in fieldwork, data analysis, and research design.
- A track record of published research in peer-reviewed journals or policy reports.
- Excellent writing and communication skills to engage both academic and non-academic audiences.
- Ability to collaborate across institutions and work in an interdisciplinary research environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with government agencies or NGOs on policy-relevant research.
- Familiarity with participatory research methods and community-based conservation approaches.
