Role
The Block Lead will work with State Rural Livelihood Missions (SRLMs) to implement the economic inclusion program. The role involves identifying vulnerable rural women and helping them access government entitlements and livelihood opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Select and mobilize vulnerable women in identified geographies into small groups and Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
- Hire and train community cadres from local villages to provide direct handholding support to targeted families.
- Facilitate access to government entitlements and social security schemes through various convergence platforms.
- Lead livelihood planning for families and assist them in securing formal credit or loans from community institutions.
- Build the capacity of community institutions to ensure long-term ownership and welfare for vulnerable women.
- Implement project activities according to the approved implementation plan and operating manuals.
- Manage data collection, entry, and reporting while developing case studies for knowledge management.
- Maintain stakeholder relationships at the grassroots level.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Rural Development, or related field preferred
- Experience in rural development, poverty eradication, livelihood promotion, or tribal development
- Prior experience with National or State Rural Livelihood Missions preferred
- Experience in institution building, social inclusion, or livelihood promotion
- Field based experience at block or district level
- Must own a two wheeler with valid driving license
- Strong community engagement and stakeholder management skills
- Willingness to work extensively in rural field locations
- Preference for local residents, women candidates, and candidates from marginalised communities
