Bring Back Green Foundation (BBG) is sparking a movement that places young voices at the heart of environmental action in India. Registered as a Section-8 non-profit in 2019, BBG was born in Kerala, led entirely by passionate youth keen to champion sustainability in every sphere. Recognised by UNEP, the Basel and Rotterdam Conventions, the organisation’s reach now extends far beyond its local origins—thanks to extensive collaborations both nationally and internationally.
BBG’s vision is simple yet ambitious: to drive ecological change through innovative, grassroots programmes. Their work spans a vibrant spectrum—ranging from hands-on waste management drives and sustainable menstruation advocacy, to spearheading rigorous research, climate-focused campaigns, and policy interventions. The Foundation believes in the power of meaningful partnerships, building bridges with communities, governments, academic institutions, and peers across the globe.
Among its standout initiatives is the National Youth Climate Consortium (NYCC), launched with support from YuWaah-UNICEF. NYCC serves as a unique national platform where young leaders converge to strengthen and uplift climate solutions, drawing on local knowledge and creativity. It operates through two main pillars: the NYCC Fellowship and the NYCC Community—providing capacity building, mentorship, and a collaborative space for innovation.
BBG is also admired for its grassroots emphasis, giving youth the space, resources, and trust to lead climate action on their own terms. The organisation’s projects often combine education, activism, and research, ensuring that each step is underpinned by a strong monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) framework. This approach sustains real impact and fosters a culture of reflection and growth within the team and its wider network.

In all their programmes, BBG’s commitment runs deep: nurturing young changemakers, designing evidence-based interventions, and forging new pathways for systemic change. This community-driven ethos ensures that BBG stands out not just as an environmental organisation, but as a growing movement shaping India’s green future—one youth leader at a time.
