About the Role
The Software Business Analyst will act as a crucial link between business stakeholders and technical teams. This role involves gathering and translating business needs into technical requirements, ensuring that software solutions meet business goals and user expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering & Analysis
- Engage with stakeholders to document functional and non-functional software requirements.
- Convert business needs into technical specifications, user stories, and use cases.
- Conduct workshops, interviews, and research to ensure comprehensive understanding.
Process Modeling & Documentation
- Map current business workflows and design improved future state processes.
- Create process flow diagrams, wireframes, and mock-ups.
- Maintain a detailed repository of technical and business documentation.
Project Collaboration & Support
- Bridge communication between development teams, QA teams, and stakeholders.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum activities such as sprint planning and stand-ups.
- Track deliverables to ensure they align with business requirements.
User Acceptance Testing (UAT) & Quality Assurance
- Develop and execute UAT test plans and cases.
- Coordinate UAT with users, gather feedback, and address issues with the development team.
- Support QA efforts by reviewing test results and recommending improvements.
Change Management & Training Support
- Assist in creating user training materials and documentation.
- Support change management processes, ensuring stakeholders are well-prepared.
- Provide post-implementation support and document feedback for future iterations.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Perform data analysis to support decision-making using SQL or similar tools.
- Create reports, dashboards, and KPIs to track software performance.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields.
- Experience: 2-5 years in a similar role, focusing on software development or IT projects.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with SQL, Excel, Microsoft Office, and tools like JIRA or Confluence.
- Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail with advanced analytical capabilities.
- Communication Skills: Ability to translate technical details into simple terms for non-technical audiences.
- Project Management: Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall methodologies.
- Certifications (Optional): CBAP, Agile certifications, or PMP certification are advantageous.
