Vowels of the People Association (VOPA) is committed to providing meaningful education with self-respect and equal opportunity to underserved school children. VOPA operates two key ecosystems:
- V-School: A free digital education platform.
- MYCA: A free digital mental health platform.
Since its founding in 2018, VOPA has made remarkable strides in school transformation and capacity building. The V-School initiative, launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, reached 17 lakh users in its first year. Today, the V-School app has 1.8 million downloads with a 4.2 rating on the Play Store. VOPA is dedicated to leveraging technology to further education for underserved children, aligning with initiatives like Mission NIPUN Bharat.
About The Role
Job Title: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Location: Kothrud, Pune
Salary: ₹10-11 Lakhs per annum
Commitment: 2+ years
Role Overview:
VOPA is seeking a visionary and passionate technology leader to drive the development and expansion of its tech ecosystem. The CTO will lead a dedicated technology team, collaborate with vendors and stakeholders, and contribute to VOPA’s mission of transforming education through technology.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Understand and oversee the current tech stack and software architecture.
- Manage coordination with third-party vendors for app development and outsourcing.
- Own third-party tools and software management.
- Collaborate with internal teams to address technological gaps.
- Develop a roadmap and logical designs for new tech solutions.
- Review and test existing code and technology modules.
- Oversee and manage the technological budget.
- Explore partnerships for innovative tech solutions.
Desirable Skills:
- Minimum 6 years of experience in the software or tech industry, preferably in non-profit settings.
- Experience as a project manager leading a tech project for at least two years.
- Strong expertise in software development, system architecture, and emerging technologies.
- Familiarity with full-stack development, Git, and AWS cloud-based services.
- Solid understanding of data analysis.
- Experience in AI/Machine Learning projects is a plus.
