Jagori
Founded in 1984, Jagori works to build feminist consciousness and a just society where women and girls live free from violence. The organisation supports survivors of violence, trains grassroots leaders and activists, conducts research on women's safety in cities, and advocates for policy change. Jagori's award-winning work includes the Safe Delhi Campaign and partnerships with UN Women and the Government of Delhi to create safer urban spaces. Through training, documentation, and community mobilisation, Jagori reaches thousands of women in rural and urban communities across northern India.
Role
If you're someone who can turn feminist ideas into powerful visuals and words that move people, this part-time role lets you shape how a pioneering organisation tells its story to the world.
Part time (10-12days per month)
Responsibilities
- Draft, edit, and proofread content for social media, website, reports, and outreach materials that reflect Jagori's feminist values and work
- Create multimedia content including infographics, short videos, and stories to highlight programmes and amplify impact across networks
- Develop and implement a communication plan aligned with Jagori's campaigns and programmes
- Design posts, publications, and knowledge products in collaboration with the Production team
- Manage Jagori's social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube) including content creation, scheduling, analytics tracking, and audience engagement
- Develop digital events and campaigns for key moments like 16 Days of Activism and International Women's Day
- Support documentation, knowledge generation, and archiving work for the organisation
Requirements
- Strong advocate of and sensitivity to intersectional feminist principles (non-negotiable)
- Graduation or post-graduation and/or certification in mass communications or journalism
- 4–5 years of relevant experience in communication for development, preferably with feminist or women's rights organisations
- Strong writing and editing skills in English; proficiency in Hindi is encouraged
- Proficiency in social media management tools, Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar design platforms
- Familiarity with Jagori's work is desirable
- Photography and videography skills are an advantage
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
