Role
This is a 12-month onsite assignment based in New Delhi, with a possibility of extension. The officer will help execute UNICEF’s Generation Unlimited (YuWaah!) digital communications and advocacy strategy to amplify impact for young people across India. Reporting to the Chief of GenU and Communications Specialist of YuWaah, the officer will lead digital content creation, PR, media relations, and event support to strengthen YuWaah’s brand and outreach.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage the YuWaah Digital Communications Strategy aligned with overall UNICEF goals
- Create and curate content for digital media channels, website, and email campaigns
- Provide digital support for virtual sessions, including hosting and live streaming on Facebook and YouTube
- Drive YuWaah’s public relations activities, including media coordination, press releases, and op-eds
- Organise and support advocacy events and stakeholder convenings
- Collaborate with UNICEF country/state teams and partners to reinforce YuWaah’s communication objectives
- Monitor communications activities and prepare monthly progress reports
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Communications, Digital Marketing, Content or Brand Marketing, PR, or related field
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in marketing and/or communications, preferably with experience in developing countries or field settings
- Proficiency in English and Hindi (fluent)
- Strong skills in content development, graphic design basics, social media, and digital tools
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and advocacy abilities
- Ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders including youth, community, media, and government
- Self-motivated with capacity to work independently and meet tight deadlines
