Citizen Digital Foundation (CDF) is a non-profit based in Trivandrum focused on promoting safe and responsible digital behaviour. CDF works on issues like digital distraction, cybersecurity, and teenage mental health through sessions, interventions, and advisory services for diverse stakeholders.
About the Role
As a Communications Specialist, you’ll play a vital role in shaping CDF’s narrative and outreach. Your responsibilities will span content creation, campaign management, media engagement, and grant writing, among other tasks.
Location: Trivandrum
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage content for internal and external communications, including social media, newsletters, blogs, and websites.
- Drive social media engagement by creating consistent, targeted content for CDF’s platforms.
- Prepare and distribute press releases, media alerts, and social media campaigns.
- Build and nurture relationships with NGOs, corporates, educational institutions, media, influencers, and government bodies to create impactful communication opportunities.
- Plan and execute campaigns that align with CDF’s mission and values.
- Conduct research, write reports, and maintain CDF’s documentation.
- Update and maintain CDF’s website, LMS, CRM, and other digital systems.
- Identify and write for suitable grant and funding opportunities.
- Support in organising and promoting CDF events through strategic communications.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or Media Studies (preferred).
- Freshers or 1-2 years’ experience in communications, preferably within the social sector.
- Strong written English skills and research capabilities.
- Basic knowledge of Gen-AI tools, and proficiency in Canva, MS Office, and Google Suite.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Malayalam is an advantage.
- Ability to create quick, engaging content for diverse audiences.
- Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to work.
