The Community Library Project

The Community Library Project (TCLP) is a free and open library movement in Delhi NCR, committed to building spaces of learning, justice, and inclusion. Grounded in anti-caste, feminist, and gender-inclusive values, TCLP serves diverse communities with access to books, resources, and collective action. Its work extends beyond reading, into campaigns and initiatives that empower communities to question and resist systemic injustice, turning libraries into spaces of critical dialogue and change.

Role

The Community Library Project is looking for a motivated and experienced Community Organising Lead to spearhead campaigns and foster intersectional analysis around systemic injustice. This role will involve leading a team, collaborating with communities, and developing strategies that use the library as a platform for change.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of six organisers and manage a year-long campaign calendar.
  • Design and run campaigns addressing issues such as unequal access to education, public space, climate justice, and discrimination.
  • Build community leadership by developing capacity in organisers and volunteers.
  • Conduct intersectional analysis of issues, reflecting on caste, class, gender, faith, and other dimensions of systemic injustice.
  • Collaborate with community members and partners to design responsive campaigns.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with grassroots and advocacy organisations.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and improve campaign effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, activism, community organising, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in campaigns or community programmes.
  • Demonstrated success in designing and implementing campaigns on systemic injustice.
  • Strong grasp of intersectional frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Multilingual ability is an added asset.
