ComMutiny – The Youth Collective was born from a simple but powerful idea — that real change begins with a “mutiny within”. It’s not about fighting the world, but about young people challenging their own limits, questioning old patterns, and discovering their power to make a difference.
Since its start, ComMutiny has grown into a vibrant national network, bringing together over 160 youth-led and youth-engaging organisations across 18 states. This collective works to create safe, inclusive, and inspiring spaces where young people can explore who they are, understand the world they live in, and step into leadership roles as active citizens.

At the heart of its philosophy is the 5th Space — a space beyond family, friends, school, and leisure. In this space, young people make the rules, experiment with new ideas, and reflect deeply on themselves and society. It’s where confidence is built, leadership is nurtured, and the seeds of social change are planted.
ComMutiny’s flagship movement, Be a Jagrik, invites young people to take a journey of self-awareness and responsibility. Through real-life challenges, community engagement, and peer learning, participants transform into “Jagriks” — aware and active citizens who lead with empathy and courage. Even in challenging times, like during the pandemic, this spirit of youth-led action continued to thrive in remote communities.
Led by a small but passionate team, ComMutiny acts as both a platform and a partner, helping youth collectives learn from one another, collaborate on solutions, and amplify their impact. Its work proves that when young people are trusted and supported, they can be some of the most creative and committed forces for positive change in the country.
