Role

WRI India seeks a highly motivated professional to join the MobiliseHER project, fostering equitable and gender-responsive mobility systems in Indian cities. Working with civil society organisations and government authorities, you'll help integrate gender perspectives into urban transport planning through participatory approaches. This is a 12-month consultancy contract.

Responsibilities

Learning Content Development (30%)

  • Lead content development for diverse audiences including government officials and civil society organisations
  • Synthesise existing research into well-structured, evidence-based materials for capacity building initiatives

Stakeholder Engagement (70%)

  • Build working relationships with central, state, and city governments to secure support for capacity building initiatives
  • Engage with government and non-government organisations, policy makers, think tanks, and CSOs to disseminate research and build capacity on inclusive planning
  • Facilitate dialogues and joint meetings between government and non-government organisations
  • Identify and engage mentors to guide participants during capacity building programmes
  • Onboard experienced trainers for capacity building initiatives, ensuring alignment with objectives
  • Organise workshops, masterclasses and develop necessary materials with WRI India team
  • Coordinate with content developers to design materials for capacity building initiatives

Requirements

  • Master's degree in gender studies, urban development, management studies, social work, or public policy
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in stakeholder engagement, capacity building, and evidence-based advocacy
  • Experience designing and delivering learning modules or training programmes for professionals
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences
  • Fluency in English and Hindi required; proficiency in other regional languages advantageous
  • Strong networking and people management skills across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of leading initiatives with minimal supervision
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with accountability in handling challenging tasks
  • In-depth knowledge of gender-responsive mobility planning (desirable)
  • Familiarity with urban governance and municipal budgeting (desirable)
