Role

Protsahan is seeking a Counselling Psychologist to provide trauma-informed care and psychological support to girls living in Child Care Institutions and vulnerable community settings. The role involves counselling, casework, and collaborative action with caregivers to ensure children have access to holistic healing and rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one counselling and psychological assessments for children under care.
  • Conduct group therapy sessions using arts-based and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Design and implement mental health programmes tailored to adolescents in institutional care.
  • Maintain detailed case records and reports as per child protection guidelines.
  • Work with caregivers, social workers, and partner agencies to create safe, supportive environments.
  • Build awareness among stakeholders about child mental health and well-being.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Psychology/Clinical Psychology/Counselling Psychology.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working with children and adolescents, preferably in child protection or trauma care.
  • Strong grounding in trauma-informed counselling practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with empathy and sensitivity.
  • Ability to use creative and arts-based tools in therapeutic settings.
  • Fluency in Hindi and English.
