VOICE 4 Girls
VOICE 4 Girls creates transformative safe spaces for marginalised adolescent girls and boys in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Through activity-based camps and year-long programmes, they impart critical knowledge on health, safety, rights and self-awareness, alongside life skills and spoken English. Girls emerge more confident, invested in their education and futures. Founded in Hyderabad in 2011, the organisation partners with government residential schools and low-cost private institutions to reach girls aged 11-16. Their model includes working with parents, teachers and boys to build an ecosystem of support that helps adolescents take charge of their futures.
Role
Develop activity-based modules that impart critical knowledge, life skills and leadership skills to adolescent girls, creating content that adapts to low-resource settings and transforms how young women see their futures.
Responsibilities
- Research, outline and write regionally relevant modules for adolescents and young women, focusing on health, safety, rights and life skills; create activity-based curriculum adaptable to low-resource settings
- Develop English content for grammar, vocabulary and spoken English; design manuals, training sessions and innovative engagement tools for facilitators
- Analyse and integrate feedback from stakeholders, past programmes and focus groups to revise and improve content; monitor and evaluate programme implementation
- Coordinate with designers, editors, illustrators and translators for timely production of content; develop IEC materials such as flipbooks and charts
- Train counsellors and field coordinators on curriculum modules as needed
Requirements
- Strong English writing and communication skills
- Proven organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Proficiency in MS Word; familiarity with digital tools
- Ability and willingness to travel to rural schools/locations
- Prior experience working in community-based projects or social sector initiatives
- Background in teaching, education or content development (preferred)
- Knowledge of issues related to gender development and adolescent education (preferred)
- Ability to think independently, take initiative and work with minimal supervision
