Founded in 1983, PRADAN is one of India’s leading organizations working on large-scale rural poverty alleviation, impacting nearly 14 million lives. PRADAN operates across nine states, promoting sustainable livelihoods integrated with gender, governance, and rights-based issues.
Role Overview:
The Development Internship is an opportunity for young, educated individuals to live and work in rural communities, gaining first-hand experience in rural development. Interns will engage in practical learning, working closely with PRADAN’s teams to contribute to community-driven initiatives.
Location: PRADAN’s intervention states (Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal)
Internship Type: Unpaid
Duration: 45 Days
Key Responsibilities:
- Work alongside PRADAN’s team in rural communities, supporting livelihood development projects.
- Conduct field research, interact with local communities, and document key insights.
- Assist in implementing interventions focused on gender, governance, and access to rights.
- Engage in capacity-building activities and contribute to knowledge sharing.
- Support PRADAN’s mission of sustainable development by working with grassroots organizations.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must have scored at least 60% in 10th, 12th, graduation, and post-graduation (if applicable).
- Candidates with 50-59% in one degree (except the ongoing degree) are also eligible.
- For humanities and social sciences, a minimum 55% till the last semester is required.
- Medium of instruction and examination for the current degree must be English only.
Additional Information:
- Accommodation: PRADAN does not provide accommodation but will assist in connecting interns with local families for homestays.
