Center for Environment and Humanity

The Center for Environment and Humanity (CEH) at Kodaikanal International School is an environmental education and action centre based in the Western Ghats, one of the world’s richest biodiversity hotspots. CEH gives students hands-on learning opportunities through field trips, forest camps, stream clean-ups, and projects with local communities. Its programs focus on themes such as regenerative agriculture, climate action, waste management, and biodiversity conservation. By connecting classroom learning with real-world experiences, CEH encourages young people to become environmental stewards who not only understand ecological challenges but also take practical steps to address them. Being located in such a unique ecosystem allows CEH to serve as a living laboratory, where education goes hand in hand with action for a sustainable future.

Our mission is to turn learning into action. With hands-on education, innovative research, and community projects, we tackle urgent environmental challenges that spark a deeper responsibility for the planet.
