Role

The District Coordinator provides leadership and management for project activities at the district level. The purpose of this role is to supervise field teams, monitor progress, and ensure smooth coordination between schools, health systems, and the central project office.

Responsibilities

  • Lead district-level implementation of project activities in alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Coordinate closely with study teams, counsellors, schools, and community stakeholders for smooth field operations.
  • Develop and maintain district workplans, schedules, and activity trackers.
  • Ensure adherence to project SOPs, ethical guidelines, and data protection standards.
  • Build and maintain relationships with district health authorities, school staff, and local leaders.
  • Facilitate coordination with ASHAs, ANMs, and local health systems to support screening processes.
  • Supervise and mentor Study Counsellors and field staff to ensure quality performance.
  • Monitor field activities, consolidate district reports, and track key participation indicators.
  • Manage logistics, resource allocation, and identify practical solutions for implementation challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Community Development, or Psychology.
  • 5–8 years of experience in managing field teams and coordinating NGO or public health projects.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple stakeholders, including government officials and community partners.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
  • Proficient in using computers for data management and professional communication.
  • Strong leadership skills with a community-centered and culturally sensitive approach.
  • Fluency in English and Hindi (both spoken and written); knowledge of local languages is a plus.
  • Ability to work from a district office with frequent travel to schools and health facilities
