Language and Learning Foundation (LLF) 

Foundation works to strengthen foundational learning outcomes for children in India, with a strong focus on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) and Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE). LLF’s approach emphasises multilingual education and the role of children’s home languages in enabling equitable learning outcomes. Through partnerships with governments, academic institutions, and civil society, LLF promotes evidence-based practice, system strengthening, and policy advocacy to improve early learning at scale.

Role

The District Program Manager will lead the field implementation of Multilingual Education (MLE) projects in Jashpur. You will be the bridge between our programs and local government officials, ensuring that educational reforms reach the classroom effectively through careful planning, coordination, and team leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Field Leadership: Coordinate with district education officials (DEO, DMC, DIET) to monitor project progress and advocate for holistic Language Teaching.
  • Team Management: Oversee the block-level LLF team, creating a supportive management system to ensure all project activities are completed smoothly.
  • Capacity Building: Organize and lead workshops and training sessions for district resource groups and teachers to improve classroom practices.
  • Planning & Review: Develop detailed monthly and yearly activity plans, conducting regular reviews with the state team to keep goals on track.
  • Monitoring & Evaluation: Manage all assessment data, analyse results, and prepare clear reports for stakeholders to show the impact of the work.
  • School Support: Spend at least 15 days a month visiting schools to observe classrooms, mentor staff, and ensure high-quality learning is happening on the ground.
  • Documentation: Capture success stories, case studies, and best practices to share with donors and government partners.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in the education sector, particularly in FLN or multilingual programs.
  • Proven experience in professional development, capacity building, and program monitoring.
  • Technical proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) for data management and reporting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and networking skills to work effectively with government bodies.
  • Cultural sensitivity and a deep commitment to educational equity.
  • Mandatory Language: Proficiency in the Sadri language is essential for this role.
