Satyarthi Movement for Global Compassion
The Satyarthi Movement for Global Compassion (SMGC), founded by Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi, is a global movement on a mission to make the world a kinder, fairer place. At its core, SMGC sees compassion not as a soft, passing feeling, but as a powerful, driving force that fuels action and systemic change. Through grassroots transformation, SMGC empowers children, youth, and women, fostering collective action and democratic participation in communities across the world.

Anchored in the Satyarthi Compassion Quotient™, the movement nurtures compassionate leadership—where empathy pairs with mindful action. SMGC’s initiatives stretch across 140 countries, touching lives by fighting child slavery, promoting freedom, equality, and justice for the most marginalised, and encouraging everyone to “do their bit” for society. The organisation hosts meaningful dialogues with Nobel Laureates, activists, and everyday changemakers, and delivers learning programmes that ignite problem-solving through compassion.
Driven by hope, SMGC believes every drop of compassion counts—just as every person’s effort adds up to widespread transformation. By globalising compassion, the movement works towards justice, equality, peace, and sustainability, inviting all to help build a society where kindness and empathy are the norm, not the exception.
