Role
Be the bridge between policy and practice. This role involves supporting Indus Action's partnerships with central and state governments by conducting research, coordinating stakeholder meetings, and ensuring smooth collaboration across livelihoods, social protection, and construction worker welfare programmes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct background research on policy issues, government schemes, and institutional structures across livelihoods, social protection, and construction worker welfare
- Draft policy briefs, internal memos, and documentation to support advocacy and decision-making processes
- Maintain comprehensive database of government stakeholders and coordinate meeting logistics with departments and technical institutions
- Record detailed meeting minutes and ensure timely follow-up on action items with both internal teams and government partners
- Prepare project roadmaps, progress dashboards, and monitoring systems to track milestones aligned with government priorities
- Create presentation decks, summary documents, and knowledge products for use in government consultations and briefings
- Analyse feedback and trends from government interactions to generate actionable insights for strategy improvement
- Support internal teams with talking points, meeting briefs, and communication materials for stakeholder engagement
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in government relations, public policy research, or project coordination roles
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related field (master's degree preferred)
- Prior experience working with or engaging government stakeholders highly desirable
- Knowledge of labour, livelihoods, construction sector, or social protection policy landscape in India preferred
- Strong research and analytical skills with both qualitative and quantitative data
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Google Workspace for documentation and analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams
- Collaborative mindset with proactive approach and willingness to take initiative
