Role

WELL Labs is seeking a passionate and driven Field Coordinator in Chikkaballapur to lead sustainable agriculture and groundwater management efforts. The role involves collaborating with farmers, partner organizations, and government bodies to promote innovative farming practices, improve water access, and strengthen local institutions.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and monitor sustainable farming practices, promoting diversified cropping and soil-water conservation.
  • Conduct training sessions for farmers on bio-inputs, soil health, and moisture conservation.
  • Build relationships with Gram Panchayats, farmers, and community leaders to facilitate initiatives.
  • Support local farmer organizations including BWUCS and FPOs to empower farmers.
  • Collaborate with agricultural institutions and researchers to transfer relevant knowledge.
  • Assist with on-the-ground research and document project outcomes.
  • Develop groundwater sharing and management strategies and conduct conservation workshops.
  • Strengthen market linkages and support service centers for essential farming needs.
  • Liaise with government officials to leverage public schemes and influence policy discussions.
  • Support monitoring, evaluation, and capacity-building efforts, including specialised trainings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture, Rural Development, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of field experience with farmers, FPOs, or sustainable agriculture projects.
  • Strong understanding of agroecology, water management, and soil conservation.
  • Experience working with government agencies, agricultural bodies, and farmer groups.
  • Skilled at leading farmer training and community engagement.
  • Willingness to travel extensively in Chikkaballapur district.
  • Proficiency in Kannada is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of regenerative farming models, organic techniques, and relevant government schemes preferred.
  • Experience in data collection and monitoring & evaluation.
