SNEHA (Society for Nutrition, Education and Health Action) is a Mumbai-based NGO working to improve the health, nutrition, and safety of women and children in urban informal settlements. Established in 1999 by a group of dedicated neonatologists and social workers, SNEHA focuses on bridging the health equity gap through a continuum of care approach spanning reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health. The organisation partners closely with vulnerable communities and public health systems, delivering evidence-based programes to reduce maternal and child mortality, prevent malnutrition, and address gender-based violence. Their pioneering work extends to palliative care, adolescent empowerment, and training health workers, making them a vital force for health equity in urban India.
