Project Tech4Dev
Project Tech4Dev is dedicated to helping nonprofits use technology and data to amplify their impact. We know that many nonprofits face challenges with costly tech, limited in-house expertise, and scattered data. That’s why we offer open source platforms like Glific, Development Data Platform (Dalgo), and Avni—tools designed to be affordable, practical, and easy to use.

Glific, for example, helps over 100 NGOs reach more than 1.3 million people through automated WhatsApp communication, exchanging over 80 million messages. Dalgo enables nonprofits to bring all their data together for better decision-making, while Avni empowers field workers to collect data offline, supporting over 50 programs and 6,000 users. Beyond tools, our Fractional CxO Program places experienced tech leaders with nonprofits to strengthen their tech and data strategies. So far, over 250 nonprofits have embraced Tech4Dev platforms. At Tech4Dev, we believe technology should be accessible and a force for good—helping every nonprofit do more, reach further, and create lasting change.
Role
At Project Tech4Dev, technology is at the heart of social impact. The team is looking for an experienced Fractional CTO who can bring strategic vision and hands-on expertise to help multiple NGOs harness technology for greater good. - Design and execute tech and data strategies and roadmaps tailored to each organisation’s mission.
- Oversee the design and implementation of software development projects, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and user-friendly.
- Guide and inspire teams to identify business needs, process gaps, and opportunities to build efficient systems using technology.
- Build internal teams’ capacity on technological tools and processes, acting as a mentor and knowledge resource.
- Identify, build, and manage relationships with partners who can help develop and deploy the required applications and technologies.
- Improve operational efficiencies, effectiveness, and decision-making through process enhancements.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends in cloud, open-source, and modern software systems, and recommend best-fit solutions.
Requirements
- Engineering degree with at least 10 years of experience in technology, including a minimum of 3 years in a strategic and managerial role.

- Deep knowledge and experience in tech strategy, technical engineering, project/program management, and data analysis or management.
- Strong relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to develop and manage teams at all levels, collaborating across functions to enable adoption of new technology.

Benefits
- Flexible engagement: open to full-time, part-time, or consulting arrangements.
- Remote work with regular opportunities to connect with the Project Tech4Dev team and travel to NGO partner offices as needed.
- Opportunity to work with a diverse range of NGOs and projects, amplifying your impact across the sector.
