About the Role
As a Fractional CxO, you will work with one or more NGOs simultaneously (on a cost and time-sharing basis) to provide strategic leadership in technology, data, and tech strategy.
Responsibilities
- Enhance NGO processes to improve operational efficiency and decision-making.
- Design and execute tech and data strategies and roadmaps.
- Oversee software development projects from design to implementation.
- Inspire teams to identify needs, process gaps, and implement efficient tech systems.
- Build internal team capacity on tech tools and processes.
- Develop and manage relationships with partners for application deployment.
Qualifications
Education: Engineering degree with 10+ years of experience in technology.
Experience:
- At least 3 years in a strategic or managerial role.
- Previous work or volunteering experience in the social sector is crucial.
- Candidates transitioning from the corporate sector will participate in a short-term volunteering assignment.
Skills & Competencies
- Expertise in Tech Strategy, Engineering, Project/Program Management, or Data Analysis.
- Strong relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills.
- Adaptive mindset with a focus on capacity building.
- Familiarity with cloud, modern software systems, and open-source technologies.
- Belief in technology as an enabler with an empathetic approach toward the social sector.
Work Location and Travel
- Remote work with weekly in-person meetings with the local Tech4Dev team.
- Quarterly travel for week-long team meetings.
- Visits to NGO offices as needed, typically once or twice a quarter.
