Role

As a Full-Stack Developer, you will design and build web applications that directly support field operations, farming advice systems, and data platforms for rural communities. You will work with experts, researchers, and field staff to turn real-world needs into technical solutions.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Python (like Django, FastAPI, or Flask).
Build responsive, user-friendly web interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (like React).
Work with data and field teams to translate their needs into technical solutions.
Optimise applications for performance and security, especially for areas with poor connectivity.
Participate in code reviews, maintain documentation, and follow best practices.

Requirements

1–2 years of experience as a full-stack developer.
Good knowledge of Python for backend development (Django, FastAPI, or Flask).
Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and experience with a frontend framework (React is preferred).
Familiar with databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB, and version control tools like Git and Github.
Ability to write clean code and work with people who are not from a technical background.
A passion for using technology to address challenges in climate resilience, agriculture, or rural development.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker) is a plus.
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
