Guardians of Dreams

Guardians of Dreams is a Bengaluru-based not-for-profit organisation committed to transforming the lives of children living in Child Care Institutions (CCIs) across India. For thousands of children in need of care and protection, CCIs are their primary safety net—a place where they find shelter, support, and an opportunity for a better future. Guardians of Dreams believes that by strengthening these institutions, it is possible to give every child the chance to grow up in a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment.

Founded by a passionate team, Guardians of Dreams takes a holistic approach to supporting CCIs, recognising that the challenges faced by these institutions are complex and multifaceted. Many CCIs struggle with limited funding, lack of access to expertise, and the absence of tailored support. The organisation’s flagship initiative, the Capacity Accelerator Program (CAP), is designed to address these gaps by working closely with CCI leaders, staff, and stakeholders to build sustainable, high-quality organisations.

The CAP focuses on strengthening leadership within children’s homes, helping them adopt best practices and develop robust systems across key domains such as healthcare, education, mental health, life skills, fundraising, and staff development. By embedding managers within CCIs, Guardians of Dreams ensures that support is hands-on, context-specific, and responsive to the unique needs of each institution.

Over the years, Guardians of Dreams has worked with numerous CCIs, helping them build stronger systems, improve child outcomes, and become more sustainable. The organisation’s impact is visible in the lives of children who are better prepared for adulthood, as well as in the growth of CCI leaders and staff who become more confident and capable.

At its core, Guardians of Dreams is about ensuring that every child has the chance to dream big and achieve their potential. By building stronger, more caring institutions, the organisation is helping to create a future where vulnerable children are not just cared for, but truly empowered to lead fulfilling lives.
