Healthy Aging India

Healthy Aging India is an experimental and dynamic not-for-profit organization setting milestones in Primary Health and Education, to provide dignity and autonomy for all.

HAI aims to re-integrate the elderly back into society and re-strengthen intergenerational bonding. This idea was first conceived in 2011 and registered as an organization under the Indian Societies Act, 1860 in December 2013. What sets us apart is the way we care- with empathy, respect, and a deep belief in the potential of every elder. Our approach focuses not just on providing care, but on enabling healthy, meaningful living.

Projects:

  1. Intergenerational Learning center (Iglc): At IGLC, we promote active and healthy aging by engaging seniors in meaningful educational roles, this bridges generational gaps and revives the concept of “learning from the wise”. Through this, we enhance the academic and emotional development of underprivileged children. This targets weak academic foundations in underprivileged schools and fosters mutual respect, cultural exchange, and moral development across generations.
  2. BSES Seniors’ abode (BSA): A Home for Healthy and Active Ageing. The BSES Seniors’ Abode represents a model of dignified aging supported through public-private collaboration. The facility ensures a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for Delhi’s economically vulnerable elders, offering not only shelter but holistic care.
  3. Comprehensive medical healthcare van (CMHV): This healthcare van ensures comprehensive, integrated, and equitable healthcare access by offering free diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up, for the elderly in old age homes.
  4. MMU + Health camps: Healthy Aging India has been hosting various Health Camps since 2011. These camps open up access to healthcare and health literacy to disadvantaged communities. The MMU was inaugurated in 2024 as a means to improve access for these camps.

Healthy aging india is not just an organisation, it is a movement for the future of the world
