About the Program: Healthy Cities for Adolescents
This internship is part of the Healthy Cities for Adolescents (HCA) program, a global initiative by Foundation BOTNAR. The program focuses on enhancing adolescent well-being in secondary cities by fostering community-led interventions and promoting youth participation in city planning to create vibrant, safe, and healthy public spaces.
About the Role
The GeoAnalytics Intern will support WRI India’s Ross Centre for Sustainable Cities by conducting data-driven analyses and providing insights for urban infrastructure and sustainable growth.
Responsibilities
Research & Analysis:
- Conduct data exploration and quantitative research.
- Organize and analyze complex datasets for spatial modeling.
- Develop and execute Python and Google Earth Engine scripts for data acquisition and analysis.
- Provide geospatial analysis and visualization support to project teams.
Technical Support & Outreach
- Create dashboards, web-maps, and storyboards for data visualization.
- Develop professional visual outputs for presentations, publications, and online platforms.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Earth Sciences, Geomatics, Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing, or related fields. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Recent graduate or 1 year of relevant work experience in the geospatial industry.
Skills:
- Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS, Quantum GIS).
- Experience with Python, R, JavaScript, and Google Earth Engine (preferred).
- Familiarity with spatial analysis, remote-sensing databases, and platforms like Open Street Maps.
Internship Details
- Location: Delhi/Bangalore/Mumbai, India
- Duration: 3 to 6 months
- Stipend: ₹25,000 per month
- Start Date: As soon as possible
