About The Role
Responsibilities
Hardware & Software Management:
- Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems, and applications.
- Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks.
- Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.
- Replace hardware parts as required.
- Test and evaluate new technology.
User Support:
- Assist staff or clients in setting up systems or resolving issues, either face-to-face or over the phone.
- Provide support through procedural documentation and relevant reports.
- Set up new user accounts and profiles, manage password issues.
- Train users on IT applications, processes, and proper use of assets.
- Offer IT solutions for hardware, software, laptops, desktops, printers, and scanners.
Network & Security:
- Support the roll-out of new applications.
- Set up Local Area Network (LAN), file servers, firewalls, and ensure network and device security.
- Implement IT security policies and manage access controls.
Procurement & Asset Management:
- Handle district-level procurement, budget planning, and management.
- Manage assets, including allocation, tagging, tracking, transfers, and maintaining asset records.
- Oversee software license management.
Backup & Reporting:
- Take responsibility for backing up user data.
- Prepare and share district requirement reports and progress updates through analytical reports.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment.
- Respond to IT issues within agreed time limits.
- Maintain strong working relationships with customers and professionals, including software developers.
- Prioritize and manage multiple open cases at a time, working continuously until completion or referral.
