About the Role
Jhpiego is seeking an IT Assistant to provide Level 1 service desk support for 200+ users, maintain network/server infrastructure, and ensure smooth IT operations across its India offices. This is a full-time, Delhi-based role reporting to the Senior IT Officer.
Responsibilities
🖥️ User Support
- Provide L1 support to staff for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices
- Install and manage software, ensuring regular updates
- Address malware issues and verify software patches
- Maintain and repair computer hardware
- Manage and update Jhpiego's intranet portal
- Provide remote support to branch offices
- Support for Windows, macOS, and Ubuntu environments
- Configure and troubleshoot Office 365
- Perform preventive maintenance and share reports with IT Manager
🌐 Network Management
- Maintain switches, wireless access points, firewalls, and network printers
- Run diagnostics and monitor systems
- Manage and test power backups (UPS systems)
- Handle procurement specs and Avaya IP phone systems
🗄️ Backup & Recovery
- Maintain rigorous backup systems for end-user devices and servers
- Support disaster recovery planning per HQ protocols
📋 Compliance
- Align with global IT best practices and Jhpiego’s regulations
- Maintain documentation for system/configuration changes
- Follow ITSM processes using JIRA
- Maintain IT inventory (hardware/software)
🖧 Infrastructure & Server Support
- Manage full IT infrastructure including laptops, desktops, tablets, firewalls, servers, VPN, NAS/SAN, and vendor coordination
- Understand and manage switch/firewall configurations (preferably SonicWall)
- Administer access policies and monitor network/server reporting tools
Qualifications
Must Have
- Bachelor’s in Informatics, Computer Science, or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in a similar IT support role
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- Basic knowledge of:
- Windows Server 2016/2019
- Active Directory
- TCP/IP and Internet connectivity
- Office 365, Azure AD
- Network cabling and LAN/WAN protocols
- Server hardware (DELL, HP, etc.)
Good to Have
- Exposure to Linux (Ubuntu), Mac OS, MySQL DB, SharePoint
- Familiarity with SonicWall firewalls and related tools
- Experience in backup systems, VPNs, remote access, and power systems
- Comfort with multi-platform environments
