Shishu Sarothi is a Guwahati-based organisation working with children with disabilities and special needs. Through rehabilitation, therapy, and community support, the organisation helps children grow, learn, and participate fully in everyday life alongside their families.

Role

Lead communications for Shishu Sarothi across digital and print platforms. This role involves creating content, managing social media, documenting program impact, and ensuring consistent messaging that reflects the organisation's mission.

Responsibilities

• Create content for social media platforms, website, newsletters, reports, and promotional materials.
• Manage the organization's social media presence and digital communication channels.
• Coordinate with program teams to document success stories, events, and activities.
• Support media relations and prepare press releases, articles, and communication materials.
• Assist in designing awareness campaigns and fundraising communication materials.
• Maintain and update organizational databases, photographs, and communication archives.
• Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all communication platforms

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing, or a related field
• 1 to 3 years of relevant experience preferred; fresh candidates with strong communication skills and interest in the social sector are welcome to apply
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Knowledge of Assamese and Hindi is an advantage
• Proficiency in social media management and digital communication tools
• Experience in content writing, photography, graphic design, or video editing is preferred
• Prior experience in the development or NGO sector is an advantage
• Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
