The demand for their work speaks for itself Giving Joy receives approximately 8,000 applications from 70 countries in each application round. These micro grants serve as powerful catalysts, helping women start or grow businesses, build skills, and raise awareness about women's issues on a global scale.

Beginning in 2026, Giving Joy will move to two global grant cycles per year.
After running multiple regional rounds, we learned that four cycles created unnecessary complexity and stretched our small team and volunteer reviewers. To ensure a fair, smooth, and high-quality experience for applicants, and to strengthen our own operations, we are simplifying the process.

PlanetRead is a non-profit organization. Their goal is a world where everyone can read. They want to make sure people have access to good and affordable reading materials in their own language. Their main idea is called Same Language Subtitling, or SLS for short.

Here is how it works. Many people love to watch movies or listen to film songs. PlanetRead adds subtitles to this content in the same language that is being spoken. This turns watching TV into a simple reading lesson. Because people watch these shows anyway, they learn to read without even trying.

The team has done a lot of work in India. They teamed up with the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad to study how this helps. Their hard work led to a new national rule. By 2025, half of all entertainment shows on TV in India must have these subtitles. This is a big step to help millions of people learn to read.

They also create things called AniBooks. These are animated stories with subtitles. They are made for children to help them learn on any screen. PlanetRead worked with a social enterprise called BookBox to make over 100 of these stories in more than 50 languages. Studies in schools show that these books help children get much better at reading.

PlanetRead uses evidence to guide their work. They partner with governments and other groups to make sure literacy is treated as a basic right. Since its start, ComMutiny has grown into a vibrant national network, bringing together over 160 youth-led and youth-engaging organisations across 18 states. This collective works to create safe, inclusive, and inspiring spaces where young people can explore who they are, understand the world they live in, and step into leadership roles as active citizens.

At the heart of its philosophy is the 5th Space — a space beyond family, friends, school, and leisure. In this space, young people make the rules, experiment with new ideas, and reflect deeply on themselves and society. ComMutiny’s flagship movement, Be a Jagrik, invites young people to take a journey of self-awareness and responsibility. Today, WWF-India works across the country, from dense forests and high mountains to coastal areas and urban landscapes. Its mission is to protect biodiversity, encourage the sustainable use of natural resources, and reduce the negative impact of human activity on the environment. This means not only safeguarding endangered species and critical habitats, but also influencing how businesses, communities, and governments think about and use resources.

Some of its most recognised work is in species conservation—protecting animals like tigers, elephants, snow leopards, river dolphins, and marine turtles. WWF-India was an early supporter of Project Tiger in the 1970s, a landmark step in India’s conservation history. Alongside wildlife protection, it also works on footprint reduction, helping farmers move towards sustainable agriculture, guiding businesses towards responsible sourcing, and promoting energy efficiency to tackle climate change.

MAP’s collection is both vast and varied—over 60,000 works ranging from 10th-century artefacts to contemporary photography and design. From living traditions and textiles to pop culture and modern masterpieces, the museum reflects the depth and diversity of South Asian creativity. Accessibility is more than a policy here; it’s a practice. MAP is committed to ensuring that people of all abilities can connect with art, using adaptive technology and inclusive design.

Interestingly, MAP’s opening chapter was digital. Launched online in December 2020, amid the height of the pandemic, it became India’s first digital-first museum. It drew audiences into its collection through virtual exhibitions, insightful essays, engaging talks by industry leaders, and collaborations with international institutions. Today, that digital spirit still shapes the visitor experience—be it through interactive displays, immersive installations, or e-publications.

MAP is also deeply invested in education. Its programs cater to both children and adults, encouraging exploration, creativity, and a deeper understanding of cultural heritage. Exhibitions like VISIBLE/INVISIBLE: Representation of Women in Art provoke thought, while interactive spaces, such as hologram displays and the kaleidoscope room, invite playful discovery.

As a meeting point for tradition and innovation, MAP is building a bridge between South Asia’s rich cultural past and its dynamic present. It’s a place where art is not only seen but also felt, discussed, and shared. Born out of a deep need for new perspectives, Coexistence Consortium was initially catalysed by global exhibitions that celebrated the nuances of human-animal connections. Today, it’s become a thriving nexus—supporting a diversity of context-driven projects across India and beyond. The Consortium doesn’t approach conservation as a top-down intervention. Instead, it acts as a facilitator: convening experts and grassroots leaders, supporting indigenous knowledge, driving local empowerment, and nurturing deep, non-extractive relationships between people and place.

At the heart of Coexistence Consortium’s work is the conviction that successful coexistence isn’t just possible—it’s already happening, quietly and resiliently, in forest villages, agricultural frontiers, riversides, and bustling towns. The Consortium’s standout initiative, Coexistence Champions, searches out and supports those who embody this ethos: mid-career conservationists with hands-on experience working with communities on the ground. These Champions become catalysts, amplifying local stories of empathy, negotiation, and innovation—stories that challenge the narrative of perennial conflict and point instead to hope and possibility.

Coexistence Consortium’s mission goes beyond minimising human-wildlife friction. It’s about justice, inclusion, and re-balancing power: shifting the focus to equitable sharing of costs and benefits, recognition of indigenous and local wisdom, and attentive, ethical engagement.

The Consortium’s work is animated by partnerships—with local communities, academic circles, NGOs, and policy bodies. Whether collaborating on research, piloting coexistence models, or shaping public discourse, Existence Consortium strives to mainstream the value of living well with nature.

The Centre for Development Policy and Practice (CDPP) is an independent research organisation based in Hyderabad, India, dedicated to influencing public policy with a deep focus on the development of marginalised and vulnerable communities. Established in 2019, CDPP conducts empirical research, publishes policy papers, hosts conferences, and organises workshops to bridge the knowledge gap between government and society on inclusive policy issues. The centre also engages in training policymakers, journalists, legislators, and civil society leaders on public policy frameworks, sensitising them to global standards and fostering innovative solutions to pressing social challenges.

The CDPP research agenda spans diverse domains such as education, health, philanthropy, discrimination, human rights, democracy, and overall development. It actively collaborates with academics, practitioners, and government officials to generate original insights, sharpen public awareness, and elevate voices of the marginalised. The organisation’s work is characterised by a strong commitment to quality research and its dissemination through various communication channels, including social media and policy-focused publications.

The organisation's story is rooted in action. It all began with a vision to address the wave of civic and environmental challenges facing Indian communities, not with grand gestures, but through local, small-scale interventions initiated by those who know their neighbourhoods best. Reap Benefit designed tools, training, and support systems that empower young people and citizens to observe problems—be it waste, water, or civic disengagement—and take meaningful steps towards solutions.

This scalable model quickly gained traction. To date, Reap Benefit has enabled 1.2 lakh+ Solve Ninjas to take over 1 lakh civic actions, initiate more than 3,400 campaigns, and prototype 552 innovations tackling issues from water conservation to public sanitation. These local heroes now actively contribute as “citizen social intermediaries”, fostering a ripple effect of problem-solving culture.

Reap Benefit’s impact is data- and community-driven. By integrating its platforms with various government bodies and shaping thousands of hyperlocal communities in 18 states, the organisation bridges the gap between policy and action.
