Role
A field-based position focused on supporting child survivors of abuse and their families through a multidisciplinary team approach.
Responsibilities
- Lead casework interventions to help child victims of sexual offences and their families.
- Coordinate with lawyers and counselors to conduct home visits and family studies.
- Manage field visits across Mumbai to provide on-ground community support.
- Document case histories and progress using specialized management software.
- Draft formal reports and representations for government and legal stakeholders.
- Liaise with police, child welfare committees, and hospitals for holistic care.
- Handle crisis situations with a professional and empathetic manner.
- Uphold strict child protection protocols and ethical confidentiality.
- Manage risks and respond effectively in crisis situations.
- Other duties as assigned, consistent with the above duties as the project develops
Requirements
- Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Social Work.
- Relevant diploma or certificate courses in counselling and legal studies would be an added advantage to the applicants.
- 0–2 years of experience in the social sector or community engagement.
- Fluency in English and Hindi (Marathi is a strong advantage).
- Skilled in report writing and basic computer applications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Deep commitment to child rights and a non-judgmental attitude.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a larger, multidisciplinary team.
