Climate Curve
Climate Curve manages the Keeling Curve Prize (KCP), a globally recognized award that has been supporting climate action since 2018. The organization focuses on elevating solutions that reduce, remove, and replace greenhouse gas emissions with the singular goal of decarbonizing the planet. Each year, the prize awards $50,000 USD to ten of the best emissions mitigation and sequestration solutions, catalyzing growth for high-impact startups and nonprofits worldwide.
Role
This is a virtual, part-time consultancy role for the 2026 prize cycle, running from January through April 2026. You will join the KCP analysis team to review applications and help select the next cohort of finalists driving climate innovation.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate prize applications asynchronously on your own schedule using the Climate Curve platform.
- Participate in synchronous team meetings to discuss the application format, judging criteria, and suggest improvements.
- Collaborate with the analyst team to develop a slate of finalists throughout the contract period.
- Submit written reviews and documentation on finalists, conducting background research as necessary.
- Consult with staff and affiliates on specific questions regarding finalists during the contract period.
Requirements
- Interest and expertise in greenhouse gas emissions mitigation, including sectors like Carbon Sinks, Energy, Finance, Transport, and Social/Cultural Pathways.
- Experience in carbon sinks, energy, transport, and mobility is prioritized, as is experience working in the Americas, Africa, and Europe.
- Previous experience reviewing applications and using online platforms or web messaging tools.
- Ability to evaluate and discuss emissions solutions across a broad set of sectors.
- Access to a stable internet connection for virtual meetings.
- Must be eligible to work under U.S. laws and regulations; individuals in countries sanctioned by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) cannot be considered.
