India Climate Collaborative

India Climate Collaborative (ICC) is a philanthropy-led platform catalysing climate action in India. Founded in 2020 by leaders including Rohini Nilekani, Ratan Tata, Anand Mahindra and Nadir Godrej, ICC unlocks philanthropic capital, surfaces priority climate solutions, and builds connective infrastructure so funding can travel farther and faster. It advises donors entering climate giving, designs impact-ready opportunities across mitigation and resilience, and convenes partners across sectors to turn ideas into action for India’s development pathways.

Role

ICC is hiring a Lead – Development and Partnerships to grow its supporter community, steward donor relationships, and scale capital flows to India’s climate priorities. This consultant role builds and manages the Development & Partnerships team, serving as a bridge between funders, partners and internal leadership to strengthen ICC’s platform and fundraising outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Development & grant management: secure commitments with leadership; identify and engage new donors; craft outreach strategies, proposals, pitches and fundraising collateral; build thoughtful fundraising narratives; central point for donor reporting, updates and ad-hoc requests; design engagement strategies (convenings, check-ins, newsletters); track donor metrics and fundraising goals; ensure effective fund utilisation with Finance.
  • Strategic partnerships: discover, negotiate and manage partnerships (including MoUs); cultivate relationships across non-profits, policymakers, corporates, experts and service providers; represent ICC externally; design and oversee a CRM to institutionalise relationships.
  • Events & convenings: shape ICC’s convening strategy with leadership; conceptualise and curate impactful domestic and international engagements for funders and climate actors.
  • Stakeholder management, leadership & team: work closely with CEO and leadership on positioning, outreach and ecosystem engagement; support institutional fundraising and partnerships; build, lead and mentor a high-performing team.

Requirements

  • 13–15 years’ experience in non-profit fundraising, business development, partnerships, sales/marketing or entrepreneurship; some non-profit experience required; climate sector preferred.
  • Proven success raising and managing institutional philanthropic funding.
  • Strength in strategy, data-driven systems/processes and CRM adoption.
  • Excellent relationship management; ability to influence across diverse stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication; strong pitch development and storytelling.
  • Prior team management; strong time and task management; comfort with ambiguity; adaptable, self-starter; high-level climate understanding and passion for climate action.
  • Preferred: existing foundation/donor networks; non-profit fundraising experience; grant management/CRM platform experience; knowledge of Indian and international climate philanthropy.
