Role
The Lead will head our efforts to improve the Sahariya community’s access to basic amenities and fair financial systems. You will guide a team to bridge the gaps in essential services like healthcare and housing while ensuring the community can access banking and credit.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of projects focused on essential services and financial inclusion.
- Guide the team in addressing immediate community needs while solving long-term structural problems.
- Manage documentation systems to turn field data into evidence for policy changes and advocacy.
- Create reports, research briefs, and public statements to highlight community challenges.
- Coordinate with government departments and banks to fix barriers in service delivery.
- Supervise the daily work of the Coordinator and Paralegals.
- Represent the organization in meetings with community leaders, partners, and government officials.
- Support the Director of Samavesh with strategic planning and fundraising efforts.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Law, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- 4-5 years of experience in research, policy analysis, or advocacy within the rights-based or development sector.
- Strong understanding of public welfare systems and tribal development policies.
- Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Proficiency in both English and Hindi (written and oral).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to lead diverse teams.
- Commitment to working with marginalized communities.
- Familiarity with the specific challenges faced by PVTGs is preferred.
- Ability to use computers for documentation and reporting.
