About the Role
The Lead - STEM will oversee STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) education across Akanksha’s network, specifically for Grades K-8. The role includes leadership of a 4-6 member team and involves creating a strategic vision for STEM education, developing programs, and supporting teachers and students with hands-on, experiential learning opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Vision:
- Develop and implement a vision for STEM education across the network.
- Align STEM initiatives with Akanksha’s mission and educational goals.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead a team of 4-6 members (Math, Science, and Digital Learning).
- Mentor and support team members to drive STEM instruction and learning.
- Program Development and Implementation:
- Design and implement innovative STEM curricula.
- Curriculum development (including skill progression, unit plans, lesson plans, and assessments).
- Conduct professional development sessions for teachers and leaders.
- Manage school visits to ensure integration of experiential learning.
- Document and share best practices.
- Collaboration and Alignment:
- Work closely with School Leadership, Coaches, and Grade Leads to align STEM initiatives with overall educational programs.
5. Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Develop metrics to assess the effectiveness of STEM programs.
- Use data and feedback to improve programs continuously.
- Collaborate with the Impact and IT teams for data tracking and analysis.
- Resource Management:
- Identify and manage resources for STEM program success.
- Explore partnerships to enhance STEM education within the network.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in STEM or Education with a focus on STEM (Master’s preferred).
Experience:
- 5-7 years in STEM education or related fields.
- 2+ years in developing and implementing K-12 STEM programs.
- 2-3 years in a leadership role managing teams and projects.
- Experience in curriculum development and instructional design for STEM.
- Experience working with underserved communities is a plus.
- Familiarity with educational technology.
