The Clinton Health Access Initiative

The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is a global health organization. It works to save lives and reduce disease in low and middle-income countries by helping governments build sustainable, high-quality health systems. In India, CHAI works in partnership with its affiliate, the William J Clinton Foundation (WJCF). WJCF is an independent not-for-profit organisation that supports the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on high-priority health initiatives, including infectious diseases, cancer, maternal and child health, and digital health.

Role

Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Associate responsible for strengthening data systems, programme monitoring, and evidence generation to support vector-borne disease (VBD) control and elimination efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, socialise, and maintain reports and dashboards for national and state VBD programme use
  • Collaborate with partners to innovate data insights, including predictive modelling and analytics
  • Assess current surveillance frameworks and data pipelines to identify gaps and improvement opportunities
  • Support development of data quality assurance tools and decision-support frameworks
  • Prepare technical briefs, fact sheets, and communication materials on key findings
  • Document programme progress through reports, presentations, and internal communication templates
  • Support capacity building of programme staff and stakeholders on monitoring tools and competencies
  • Conduct periodic field visits to states, union territories, and districts to understand challenges and address gaps
  • Work with VBD teams to align priorities and manage relationships with stakeholders
  • Perform other related duties as required to enhance programme monitoring and data usage

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of professional experience, or Master’s degree with at least 4 years of professional experience
  • Experience in monitoring & evaluation, data analytics, research, public health programmes, or development consulting
  • Experience working with health department data and national/state health programme reporting
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of advanced statistical tools and conceptual familiarity with new data paradigms (e.g., machine learning/AI) is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings, adapt to dynamic environments, and tackle unstructured problems
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and detail-oriented approach
  • Willingness to travel frequently (approximately 20–30% of time)
