Role
We are looking for a strategic leader to head our community engagement for the Safe Water Project in Andhra Pradesh. You will ensure that communities understand, adopt, and continue to use safe water interventions. Your work will involve designing awareness strategies (SBCC/IEC), managing field teams, and working with government partners to create lasting change.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement state-level community engagement strategies to promote safe water.
- Lead Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) and Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) initiatives.
- Refine messaging and materials based on direct feedback and insights from the community.
- Provide training and capacity building for field teams and local stakeholders.
- Oversee field team coordination to ensure high-quality execution of awareness programs.
- Coordinate with government departments and state-level vendors to align project goals.
- Monitor field performance and report learnings to senior leadership to improve program design.
- Manage team development and ensure all activities align with Evidence Action’s data-driven model.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Public Health, Communications, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in community-led programs or behavior change communication.
- Strong background in designing IEC materials and managing large-scale awareness campaigns.
- Technical proficiency in data reporting, performance tracking, and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and networking skills to engage with government officials and rural communities.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor field teams and manage vendors.
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to adapt strategies to local community needs.
- Fluency in Telugu and English is highly essential for this location.
