Role
A senior finance position focused on ensuring financial integrity, managing donor funds transparently, and supporting program teams to achieve social impact through robust budgeting and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of accurate financial reports for donors and maintain a strict reporting calendar.
- Manage internal budgets for grant-funded projects, tracking expenditures against approved allocations.
- Coordinate with the development team to provide budgetary support for new proposals.
- Ensure strict adherence to donor guidelines, internal SOPs, and statutory requirements like FCRA.
- Oversee donor audits and maintain comprehensive documentation for internal controls.
- Validate procurement processes to ensure vendor selection and benchmarking meet organizational standards.
- Generate MIS reports to analyze budget vs. actual variances and present findings to the Management Committee.
- Prepare finance and compliance presentations for the Board regarding funding and risks.
- Train program staff on financial tracking and donor compliance to build internal capacity.
- Review grant agreements to align objects and budgets with legal and regulatory conditions.
Requirements
- Chartered Accountant, Master’s Degree in Financial/Business Management, M.Com, or an equivalent degree.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Finance, Audit, and Compliance, with 4+ years specifically in grant management or nonprofit finance.
- Deep knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, fund-based accounting, and statutory laws.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel for data analysis and MIS reporting.
- Strong leadership skills to manage teams and collaborate across diverse departments.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for donor reporting and internal presentations.
