About the Role
This role offers hands-on experience in social media management, content creation, and campaign support for AWCS’s ongoing animal welfare initiatives.
Responsibilities
Social Media Management
- Assist in creating, scheduling, and posting content across social media platforms.
- Monitor engagement and respond to comments/messages.
- Analyze social media performance and suggest improvements.
Content Creation
- Develop engaging content for social media, newsletters, and blogs focused on AWCS campaigns and animal welfare.
- Assist in creating visuals, graphics, and promotional materials.
Campaign Support
- Help organize and execute marketing campaigns, such as “Crush to Save” and fundraising events.
- Track campaign performance and provide insights for optimization.
Event Promotion
- Assist in promoting volunteer engagement programs and events.
- Coordinate with local communities and potential partners for event marketing.
Email Marketing
- Support in creating email newsletters and donor communication.
- Maintain and grow AWCS’s mailing list.
Research and Market Analysis
- Conduct market research to identify trends in animal welfare.
- Analyze competitors and provide insights to improve AWCS’s marketing efforts.
Collaboration
- Work closely with the fundraising and rescue teams to align marketing efforts with ongoing projects.
- Support collaborations with external partners, sponsors, or influencers.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) and content creation tools (e.g., Canva).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with social media management tools is a plus.
- Passion for animal welfare and alignment with AWCS’s mission.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience in marketing, internships, or volunteer work in a nonprofit is a bonus but not required.
