Role
Make a real difference in the lives of Bengaluru's underserved communities through dedicated mental health support. Working within an integrated community health programme, you'll provide essential counselling services across urban settlements, helping vulnerable populations access quality mental healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with community health workers to identify and screen mental health cases
- Provide individual and group counselling sessions tailored to patient needs
- Coordinate with Health Centre teams for medication support and referrals to secondary/tertiary hospitals
- Ensure comprehensive follow-up care for all cases
- Organise and facilitate social support groups for children, adolescents, youth, women and elderly community members
- Work closely with local public health systems to connect communities with appropriate services
- Document cases diligently and maintain accurate patient records
Requirements
- MSW in Counselling or Clinical Psychiatry with 5-10 years relevant experience
- Unwavering commitment to community service and resilience for full-time work (6 days/week, Monday-Saturday)
- Fluency in Kannada and Hindi languages preferred
- Previous experience working with underserved communities highly valued
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Initiative-taking approach with excellent documentation abilities
- Flexibility to travel between different clusters as needed
