About the Role

Location: Delhi

We are seeking a ML Solutions Specialist to join the Wadhwani AI PMU unit at the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) team. This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of India's national AI mission.

Key Responsibilities

• ML Infrastructure: Plan and build infrastructure to support IndiaAI mission projects, model development, and MLOps.
• Technical Advisory: Provide expert inputs on AI-related issues and help in policy framing for data platforms, R&D labs, digital platforms, data privacy frameworks, startup financing, digital skilling, responsible AI, and AI-driven digital transformation.
• Project Planning and Implementation: Assist with planning, executing, and monitoring initiatives under the IndiaAI mission such as IndiaAI Datasets Platform, Application Development, and Safe & Trusted AI.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinate across teams to ensure timely integration and delivery of project activities.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with government bodies, research institutions, startups, and international organisations.
• Reviewing Applications: Act as a technical expert to review applications from teams proposing technical projects.

Required Skills and Experience

• Education: Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or related fields. Skilled Bachelor’s degree holders can also apply.
• Hands-on Experience: 5-10 years of experience in developing and deploying ML models, including academic experience.
• Technical Skills:
  • Experience with MLOps tools and frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud services.
  • Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration tools.
  • Proficiency in Python and ML libraries.
  • Experience with configuration management tools.
  • Understanding of CI/CD platforms.
  • Knowledge of feature stores and data versioning tools.
  • Familiarity with edge deployments for ML.
• Responsible AI Practices: Awareness of ethical and social implications of AI in Indian contexts.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Project Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently.
