A common challenge in many government schools across India is the low utilisation of existing technology infrastructure, often leaving valuable computer labs sitting idle without a measurable impact on student learning. It was to address this gap that Moinee Foundation was established in 2012, asking a different question: what if we could leverage available technology to deliver quality, accountable, and engaging education, even in areas with no internet?
Established in 2012, Moinee Foundation is a non-government organization dedicated to ensuring every child's fundamental Right to Quality Education through innovative techno-social solutions. Their vision is rooted in the belief that true freedom is unlocked through knowledge. Working closely with Government Bodies, Educational Institutes, and local communities, the Foundation focuses on bringing qualitative and accountable change to mass education, especially in rural, tribal, and underprivileged urban areas across India. Their core mission is to bridge the gap created by socio-economic and geographic barriers like cost, access, and language.
The Foundation’s primary vehicle for this transformation is Project Utkarsh, a mission focused on injecting technology and a quiz-based learning system into government schools.

Project Utkarsh-Core: This program directly addresses the challenge of underutilised ICT labs. By leveraging the QuizAcademy platform, Moinee converts existing computer labs into smart classes with curriculum-mapped, curiosity-based learning content in local languages. This provides a system for self-learning, performance benchmarking, and remote monitoring, which is now utilised by over 5 lakh students in classes 8th, 9th, and 10th across multiple states.
School in a Box: This initiative is a Smart Knowledge Server-based e-learning solution designed specifically for rural and deep rural areas with no or poor internet connectivity. The "School in a Box" delivers curriculum-mapped digital content in local languages without internet dependency, featuring enhanced intervention and remote monitoring capabilities. It also provides basic revival support for ICT infrastructure, long-term capacity building for teachers, and initial exposure to Tinkering and Robotics for students.
School Transformation Program: A unique intervention that transforms existing government schools into model learning ecosystems. Executed in 97 schools across five major states (Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Bihar), this program enhances infrastructure, creates a Joyful & Activity Based Learning Environment with libraries and sports facilities, and uses tools like Tinkering and Robotics Kits to drive learner curiosity.
Since its establishment, Moinee Foundation has expanded its presence to 12 states, working closely with government partners towards technological scaling for improved education infrastructure in rural, tribal, and underprivileged urban areas. The School Transformation Program alone benefits more than 40,000 beneficiaries every year since 2019. By ensuring the smooth functioning of technology, providing relevant content, and building teacher capacity, the Foundation is improving the image of government schools through better attendance, enrolment, and board results in the long term.
