WOTR works at the intersection of practice, knowledge, and policy to support rural communities in India. Its mission is to secure water, food, and livelihoods for vulnerable and disadvantaged communities through sustainable, community-led development.
Role
WOTR is looking for a Monitoring, Evaluation and Documentation Officer to support results-driven programme implementation. The role involves designing M&E frameworks, managing data systems, tracking indicators, and supporting field-based evaluations. You will work closely with programme teams and regional managers and spend 50–60% of your time in field locations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and rollout of regional-level M&E frameworks and systems
- Develop and revise project-level M&E tools and tracking methods
- Create indicators, targets, and performance monitoring plans for all project components
- Help build data dashboards and visual platforms for real-time decision-making
- Ensure data validity, integrity, and timely reporting across all project levels
- Maintain and update the MIS platform with accurate and current data
- Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for both internal and donor use
- Coordinate thematic assessments, evaluations, and spot checks
- Liaise with WOTR head office to ensure standardised M&E practices
- Travel regularly to rural project locations for monitoring and data collection
- Support any additional documentation needs as assigned by the Regional Manager
Requirements
- Master’s in Social Work, Sociology, Agriculture Economics, Development Studies, Rural Development, Anthropology, or PG Diploma in Development Management
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in M&E system design and implementation
- At least 2 years’ experience in research, evaluation, and reporting
- Experience in data platform development and management
- Familiarity with data tools: Power BI, Looker Studio, Tableau, Excel/Google Sheets
- Knowledge of SPSS, STATA is an added advantage
- Strong documentation and analytical skills
